It was just an ordinary summer day. I spent a couple of hours at the beach and then joined my husband later for lunch. When we arrived home, a rather large box sat in our open garage.
One of the best things about blogging is getting to meet all the wonderful and kind people who share your same passions like vintage, thrifty, and antique decor, and Bernese Mountain Dogs!
Like my friend Susan, who follows me over on Instagram. Susan runs an antique business selling online and at markets across Michigan called Red Maple Antiques, and also has a Berner, Ruger
We bonded over vintage decor and Bernese Mountain dogs and then the tragic happened and her Ruger passed away from Cancer. We commiserated together and became friends.
Join me on the blog to learn more about our Bernese Mountain Dogs, as we have lost a couple to cancer too. It's so heartbreaking and devastating.
I share all of this with you today so you may recognize why this package was so endearing. Living in Michigan, Susan had found this vintage balancing toy whale at an online antique shop and thought it would be something I would really like.
It comes in two pieces: the whale on top balances on the base, representing the sea. A tap of the bottom weighted piece allows the whale to rock back and forth while balancing on the base.
Oh my gosh, I couldn't love this balancing toy whale any more. Join me on the blog to see and learn all about this thoughtful gift that we just love!
The vintage whale balancing toy looks amazing in every room of our home. We just adore it in our vintage coastal cottage home in Maine.
