I photographed these booths at Vintage Bazaar New England, held this year in a wonderfully unique waterfront setting at Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut. Set among historic maritime buildings and tall ships, the outdoor village was filled with vintage booths layered in coastal finds, New England style, antiques, and one-of-a-kind treasures.

Whether you’re looking for ideas for your own antique booth, planning a vintage market display, or simply love the eye candy of a beautifully styled flea market booth, there’s plenty here to inspire you. So grab a cup of coffee and wander the booths with me; there’s a lot to see.
So Many Antique Booths, So Much Inspiration
This is where the fun really begins. From coastal New England style and beautifully layered collections to clever displays and unexpected vintage finds, every booth offers a fresh mix of colors, textures, antiques, and creative styling ideas.

Coastal vintage style was everywhere, with old nautical paintings, model ships, fishing nets, captain’s chairs, wicker, crocks, and vintage clothing filling the booths. It’s such a fun mix for creating that collected, lived-in New England look without feeling overly themed.

These oversized blue whales were handmade from old barn wood, each one unique and individually numbered, and surprisingly affordable, too. I loved the way they were displayed one above another on the tent pole and came very close to bringing one home, but their generous size won out over my available wall space. This may be one of those vintage market finds I wish I hadn’t left behind!

Fleurish is always one of my favorite booths to see at Vintage Market Days Vermont, and I was so happy to find them here, too. I loved how these small coastal paintings in vintage gold frames were displayed together on a handmade trellis fashioned from old architectural salvage; the soft pastel colors against the weathered wood were so good. And yes, two of those paintings came home with me for our attic bedroom makeover.

Old sails, colorful camp chairs, vintage signs, and wooden oars; so many fun ways to layer an outdoor antique booth.

The Katama swimwear booth was one of my favorite displays of the day, with its Airstream surrounded by layers of red, white, and blue vintage New England style. Blue captain’s chairs, striped pillows, antique paintings, JFK portraits, wooden whales, maritime flags, old ships, rugs, and even lobster trap coffee tables created that unmistakable Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket summer feel—all around a booth whose main attraction was actually swimwear.

“Lobster just defines summer in New England, and when it’s paired with classic Americana colors and vintage charm, it becomes something really special,” Ann Kittredge of Dabbling & Decorating Blog says. “For me, lobster is the ideal way to celebrate the Fourth of July in a way that feels authentic to the northern East Coast, and can easily be styled to feel elevated and festive.” — The Spruce

If you’ve noticed a theme in these antique booth displays, you’re not imagining it. Vintage wallpaper tables and old wooden crates were everywhere. I’ve collected wallpaper tables for years and use one on our porch, but they’re also wonderful for vintage market displays; the long, narrow shape and collapsible legs give vendors plenty of room for styling and storage while keeping everything easy to see.

And then there are the vintage crates. Stack them, turn them on their sides, or tuck them underneath a wallpaper table to create different heights and layers. I especially loved the contrast of rustic old wood filled with crystal and glassware, jadeite pitchers, mugs, and dishes. They’re simple, collectible pieces that work beautifully in an antique booth, and the crates themselves are often just as tempting as what’s displayed inside them.

Van Claus Designs is another favorite of mine, and her antique booth displays are always beautifully styled. Here, a vintage wallpaper table is paired with old shutters hung above as a backdrop, a display trick you’ll see often at vintage markets and one I absolutely love.

The old tennis rackets, croquet mallets, and vintage suitcases give the entire display a wonderful vintage lawn-game feel. It’s such a creative example of how a few larger pieces—the shutters and wallpaper table—can create the framework for an entire booth display, with all those collected sporting pieces layered in around them.

Another beautiful antique booth by Katherine at Van Claus Designs, again using a vintage wallpaper table, old shutters, layered crates, and architectural salvage to build out the display. Baskets filled with plants and soft vintage linens add to the layers, but I especially loved the curtains hung from the tent poles above, blowing in the breeze and giving the entire booth such an airy, romantic feel.

These outdoor antique booths show just how easily vintage pieces can create the feeling of walls and rooms under a simple tent. Old shutters, doors, and salvaged windows become backdrops for mirrors and paintings, while wallpaper tables, round dining tables, dressers, and stacked crates add layers and height—and the best part is, nearly everything creating the display is also for sale.

And tucked into the Van Claus Designs booth was this beautiful coastal tapestry, displayed behind an old wooden dresser as part of the booth styling. Katherine pulled it down so I could get a closer look, and at just $48, this one came home with me too—I’m planning to hang it in our attic bedroom makeover I’m working on right now.

After walking through all of these antique booths, one thing really stood out: some of the best displays begin with the vintage pieces used to create the booth itself. Wallpaper tables, stacked wooden crates, salvaged windows, old shutters and doors, dressers, dining tables, desks, and other furniture pieces create height, backdrops, and even the feeling of little rooms. Add rugs underfoot or curtains blowing from the tent poles, and an outdoor market booth can suddenly feel like its own beautifully collected space.

These are such useful pieces to keep an eye out for if you have an antique booth, vintage market display, flea market booth, or even an indoor vendor space. Many of them can become part of your inventory while also giving you endless ways to change up your displays from one market to the next.

Frequently Asked Questions About an Antique Booth
An antique booth is a designated selling space where a vendor displays and sells antiques, vintage finds, collectibles, furniture, and home decor. Antique booths can be found inside antique malls and shops or at outdoor flea markets, vintage markets, and seasonal events.
Vintage wallpaper tables, wooden crates, old dressers, dining tables, benches, shelving, and other furniture pieces make wonderful antique booth displays. Salvaged doors, shutters, and old windows can also create backdrops and provide places to hang artwork, mirrors, signs, and smaller vintage finds.
Start by creating the feeling of a small room. Rugs can define the floor, while shutters, doors, or architectural salvage create walls and backdrops. Layer in furniture, stacked crates, baskets, textiles, and even curtains hung from tent poles to soften the space and give an outdoor antique booth a more collected feel.
Look for versatile vintage pieces that can serve double duty as both merchandise and display fixtures. Wallpaper tables, crates, stools, small tables, dressers, shutters, doors, and architectural salvage can be rearranged and layered in different ways for flea markets, vintage markets, and indoor antique booth displays.
