A Vintage Haul for a spring porch

Vintage Haul For Spring Porch Decorating

Creating a vintage-inspired look for your spring porch can add a unique and charming touch. Here are some ideas for a vintage haul to decorate your spring porch with:

  • Vintage Furniture: Look for vintage or antique furniture for your porch. Consider a wrought iron bistro set, a vintage rocking chair, or a wooden garden bench. These pieces will add character and create a cozy seating area.
  • Rustic Planters: Find vintage or repurposed planters to display your spring blooms. Look for old metal buckets, wooden crates, or vintage ceramic pots. Fill them with colorful flowers or lush green plants to add a touch of nature to your porch. See more in the White & Green Rustic Summer Flower Planters Sure To Charm You post.
  • Vintage Signs and Decor: Incorporate vintage signs and decor to create a nostalgic atmosphere. Look for old metal signs with floral or nature motifs, vintage lanterns, or antique bird cages. These pieces can be hung on walls or placed strategically around your porch.
  • Vintage Lighting: Use vintage lighting fixtures to add a warm and inviting glow to your porch. Look for old-fashioned lanterns, vintage-style string lights, or vintage-inspired sconces. These will create a cozy ambiance for evening gatherings.
  • Vintage Textiles: Add vintage textiles to your porch seating area for comfort and style. Look for vintage-inspired outdoor pillows with floral or botanical prints. Consider using vintage quilts or crochet blankets for added coziness on cool spring evenings.
  • Vintage Garden Tools: Display vintage garden tools as decorative elements on your porch. Hang old rakes, shovels, or watering cans on the wall, or place them in a vintage wheelbarrow as a unique focal point. These items will add a touch of nostalgia and rustic charm.
  • Vintage Tableware: For outdoor dining on your porch, use vintage tableware. Look for mismatched vintage plates, teacups, and silverware at thrift stores or flea markets. These charming pieces will add a whimsical touch to your spring meals.

Spring Antiquing With A Vintage Haul

Woo Hoo!

We had our first sunny day in ages, and temperatures reached 60 degrees here today.

It was a perfect day to get out and go “Thrifting with the Gals“!

I have been so anxious to get started decorating our front porch for spring. The last time I tried, it actually snowed. Check out the post How To Create An Inviting Front Porch with Wicker Furniture to see more.

And although we are not there just yet weather-wise, it felt so good getting inspired.

I headed over to one of my old stomping grounds, Stone House Antique Center in Chester, Vermont.

Vintage Haul: Staying Focused

Here are a few vintage items that I was looking for today for our front porch’s vintage haul:

  • Large, heavy, dark wooden side tables.
  • A large dark wooden trunk that would serve as both a coffee table and a work table.
  • Green and White dishes.
  • Soft blue and white quilt or blanket.
  • Pillows

And if you read my What is Thrifting and How to Get Started, you know that I’m really trying to stay focused on thrifting this year!

Although booths like this completely inspire me, they can totally distract me at the same time…

  • Like, “Wouldn’t a bench like this look so cute on our front porch?”
  • And “I’d love that wooden kitchen utensil for our Home in Maine.”
  • “I need to put tulips like this in my vintage booth down at The Vintage Soul.”
  • And “a Flyer as a mini table, love it!”

Vintage Wooden Side Tables for the Front Porch

  • I’m looking for heavy side tables that will withstand our extreme wind and weather.
  • I want a side table or two that is dark in wood coloring to match our deck’s flooring.

Like this wallpaper table that I recently shared, How to Refinish a Wood Table in Less Than 1 Hour.

Here are three that caught my eye today:

Which one do you like?

Remember, it will reside under a covered porch.

Large Vintage Wooden Trunk

Boy, vintage trunks used to be everywhere, but I couldn’t find one that was large or tall enough for me.

Until I reached the absolute last vintage booth of the day, which is one of my favorites.

And guess what?

Everything in this booth was 40% OFF today!

I couldn’t leave this trunk behind. It was large, sturdy, and almost half-price. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Blue Pillows and A Crock Vintage Haul

And that is where I also spied a vintage crock and these blue pillows. Oh My!

I had visions of blue and white pillows on our green wicker furniture on the porch, and these were just stunning.

And also 40% OFF!

Vintage Crock

This antique crock was also a steal with the additional 40% Off.

I’ve really been eyeing and thinking about starting an antique crock collection. They are always so beautiful but always so expensive.

I think it’s time to start adding to my mother’s crock collection in Maine.

Do you know there wasn’t one green and white dishware set to be found anywhere?

I’m looking for ones like this small collection I started here.

Doesn’t the color go beautifully with the green wicker and dark wood tones?

Vintage Lemonade Set

I got a little off track when I spied these charming vintage lemonade sets.

Technically, they are green, right?

The green and pink set on the left was over $200, but the set on the right was $19.00!

Oh my gosh, I love it so much!

A Few Other Vintage Gems

All four of these beautiful ladder-back chairs were only $95!

I would love to have those pewter lamps on our porch, but unfortunately, I don’t think they would last.

Blue and White Bedspread

I then got lucky, finding this large blue and white throw for $55. It was also on my list.

It’s the perfect throw to withstand the elements of the porch yet cozy enough to keep us warm.

I can’t wait to decorate it all and share it with you here very soon!

But today, it’s raining again, and April showers are raining again, so I’m off to my vintage window booth to fluff and rearrange.
