Thrifted Table Setting Finds

Today’s thrifted pink table setting was inspired by a small $5 bag of pink napkins I found on Sunday at a local second-hand shop. And a lobster apron, which doesn’t have anything to do with today’s pink table setting, but isn’t it cute, being in Maine and all?

Next, I remembered I had some new thrifted dishes and bowls from my last visit to Maine that I had yet to use. See more in the Antiquing 101: A Guide From the Trail post.

Bringing them all together this week brought me joy as I reflect on this Mother’s Day.

This thrifted pink table setting is simple and budget-friendly, and I hope it brings you as much merriment.

Pink Table Setting For Dining Table

A pink table setting for the dining room is a wonderful way to infuse warmth and elegance into your space. By incorporating soft shades of pink, you can create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for family and guests.

How to choose a color theme

Do you have a favorite thrifted find? Choose some of your favorite tableware from around your home. I love eclectic decor and colors. Mix and match, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different colors and patterns. As you can see, embracing a color theme can be as easy as finding a colorful package of napkins and building your table from there.

To set the theme of my pink table setting, I started with the mentioned package of thrifted pink napkins, then paired thrifted dishes in blues to accent the blue in the napkins.

Spring Table Runners

Next, a spring table runner with sea-green trimming centered the table. These soft colors set the color theme for our pink table setting.

Spring table runners are a great way to add a fresh and vibrant touch to your dining table. With the arrival of spring, you can choose table runners that reflect the season’s colors and themes. Consider opting for runners in pastel shades like soft pink, mint green, or baby blue to evoke a sense of renewal and new beginnings. Floral patterns are also popular for spring table runners, as they capture the beauty of blooming flowers and nature. You can also experiment with patterns and prints inspired by spring, such as delicate butterflies, budding leaves, or cheerful polka dots.

Tennis Napkin Rings

I found these cute pewter tennis racquet napkin rings on Etsy. I thought they would be so fun in our summer table settings. Etsy’s COURTandCLUB shop sells tennis collectibles if you’re an avid tennis fan.

The gold tennis racquet was my father’s paperweight. Here, I mixed and matched metals, which created texture with conversational accents. Do you have a favorite sport or hobby? Try adding its elements to your pink table settings.

Napkin rings are a simple yet elegant accessory that can elevate the look of your table setting. They keep your napkins neatly folded and add a touch of sophistication and style. When choosing napkin rings, consider your table decor’s overall theme or aesthetic. For a classic and timeless look, opt for metallic napkin rings in silver or gold tones. These can complement a formal or traditional setting beautifully. If you prefer a more rustic or natural vibe, consider napkin rings made of materials like wood or jute. These can add warmth and texture to your table. You can explore napkin rings with unique shapes or made from unconventional materials like acrylic or resin for a modern and contemporary look. You can also match your napkin rings to the color scheme of your table decor. For example, choose napkin rings in shades that coordinate with your tablecloth, dinnerware, or floral arrangements.

Pink Table Setting Glassware

I did not choose pink glassware for my pink table setting. The bright, thrifted napkins add all the pink coloring this table needs.

I chose thrifted blue sailboat glassware with my mother’s vintage champagne flutes. Next, I added a set of thrifted blue Sherbert bowls to each place setting.

Vintage glassware is a charming and soft choice, ideal for a pink table setting.

Delft Coasters

I also added one of these coastal Delft coasters to each place setting to be used with each sailboat juice glass.

Delft pottery is a kind of tin-glazed earthenware that originated in the Delft city of the Netherlands. You may also know it as Delft Blue or Delfware. Today, Delftware is considered a popular souvenir by tourists.

Cutlery Pouches

I use a collection of cutlery pouches for almost all of my indoor and outdoor table settings. Learn more in the Silverware Pouches to Elevate Your Every Day Table post. My favorite ones are available from Cutlery Couture.

Silverware pouches, also known as silverware holders or cutlery pouches, are practical and decorative accessories for storing and presenting silverware or cutlery sets. They are commonly used for special occasions, such as formal dinners, weddings, or holiday gatherings, where a more elegant silverware presentation is desired.

Silverware pouches are also a fabulous way to elevate your everyday table settings.

Pink Table Setting Centerpiece

Keeping within our simple and budget-friendly theme today, creating a pink table setting centerpiece was easy.

This table’s centerpiece was quickly created using this large vintage bottle and cut Magnolia tree branches from our neighbor’s gorgeous blooming tree.

Although pink flowers would certainly be stunning on this pink table setting, the white Magnolia branches add a level of simplicity and spring charm—and, of course, are much more budget-friendly.

Candlesticks

My mother’s pewter candlesticks with soft blue candles are a perfect match with the entire pewter collection residing nearby in a favorite antique hutch.

Sand Dollars

I have a basket of collected sand dollars from the local beaches that I display on our dining room window sill. Every once in a while, I like to add the sand dollars to my table settings.

Symbolism

Beachcombing and collecting sand dollars are a popular activity here in Maine. The sand dollar holds various symbolic meanings that resonate with different individuals. For many, it represents spirituality and faith, with the markings on its surface believed to represent the birth, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is seen as a symbol of strength and resilience, as it can withstand the harsh conditions of the ocean floor. The sand dollar also embodies peace and tranquility, with its gentle shape and smooth white surface evoking a sense of serenity. Additionally, it is associated with abundance and prosperity, as its pattern resembling a flower or star is believed to bring good luck and attract wealth. Importantly, it reminds me of our connection to Mother Nature and the sea.

Pink Table Setting Dessert

No pink table setting would be complete without one of Dawn’s Fakery Bakeries. My pink table setting today is home to the Faux Berry Mousseline Tarte—yes, it’s fake!

You had me at vintage and eclectic! I am a fan of paper napkins, so much choice, and when one does not have ‘ a staff’ to launder them, as of days of old, they make sense. I also use napkin rings with paper napkins. Such a lovely table setting, blue and pink. Kim
