Winter White Farmhouse Kitchen

Have I ever mentioned to you that I LOVE our white farmhouse kitchen here in Vermont?

And that I never ever cooked until we moved here almost 10 years ago?

The previous owners designed this kitchen with so many fun and unique farmhouse features that just make cooking so enjoyable!

White Farmhouse Kitchen Cabinets

First, all the kitchen cabinets in this white farmhouse kitchen are low to the ground.

There are no overhead cabinets, not one. And for short people like me, we love this kitchen feature.

Winter White Farmhouse Kitchen

The kitchen is also wide open, looking out onto the living room and the dining room.

Which makes it so perfect for gatherings and entertaining.

A Pine Hutch

I just moved this vintage pine hutch from the sunroom into this corner of our white farmhouse kitchen today!

Pine cabinets always add so much warmth and coziness to a space in the cooler winter months.

Winter White Farmhouse Kitchen

A collection of our everyday blue and white vintage dishes gather on top of this hutch for easy meal access.

Blue and White Dishes

You may see more of these dishes on my post How to Style a Table in October Blue here.

Isn’t this plate rack just the cutest too? The previous owners left two behind!

Winter White Farmhouse Kitchen

This pine hutch that I found on Facebook Marketplace also makes for great additional storage in our white farmhouse kitchen here at our home in Vermont.

Open Kitchen Shelving

The kitchen also offers up open shelving between the vertical wall oven, microwave, bread warmer, and refrigerator.

For the winter I have decorated the open shelving with collected old breadboards and displayed them in a vintage wooden toolbox.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers gifted by 1800 Flowers for the Thanksgiving holiday.

A few added wooden bowls and vintage rolling pins center the breadboards for an old-fashioned white farmhouse kitchen look.

White Farmhouse Coffee Station

The lower counter is home to a small morning coffee station that includes fresh Vermont honey, coffee, toaster, small plates, butter, napkins, and glassware.

Oh, and I also like to light one of Antique Candle Co. sample tester candles here too. Today I’m burning Gingerbread.

Kitchen Island Stools

Aren’t these kitchen stools so unique?

Winter White Farmhouse Kitchen stools

I found these shaker stools out thrifting one day for about $30 a piece, if I remember correctly…

The size is perfect for a white farmhouse kitchen island. I find the kitchen stools sold today in many retail stores are so oversized. I was so lucky to find these.

Kitchen Stools

I’ve rounded up a few similar shaker barstools from around the web here for you to shop. And as someone mentioned here, you can also check out Shakers Workshop for their furniture kits.

This kitchen has two farmhouse sinks and the window view looks out over the Vermont mountains, which we just adore and sold us on this home.

Do you notice the large hook off the white farmhouse kitchen cabinets? That is where our Bernese Mountain Dog’s leash hangs for her time outs:)

The barstools are Shaker style with a shawl rail along the top. Shaker Workshops sells chair kits like that, but not bar stools. Shakerworkshops.com

The walls are Navajo white 👉🏻 https://www.dabblinganddecorating.com/white-paint-colors-for-walls/ and the cabinets are Acadia white. The counter tops we had installed locally and they have a faux marble look to them to match a local VT quarry. I’m not sure the material unfortunately. It was before I was blogging🙌🏻
