Every season, I’ll bring you four fresh vintage decorating prompts, designed to inspire your home without any pressure. You can follow them weekly, mix them up, or tackle them all in a single afternoon; it’s entirely up to you.
Each prompt is crafted to help you use what you already have: thrifted treasures, antique favorites, or sentimental decor pieces. There’s no shopping list, just a little creativity and a love for vintage charm.
Want some inspiration? I’ve even included one of my most popular styled photos from this season. Feel free to put your own spin on it! Pin it, print it, or screenshot it! It’s here to spark ideas, not perfection.

Summer Vintage Styling Prompts: Create a Sunday Home Vibe with Familiar Finds
Ready to bring a fresh Sunday home feeling into your space this summer? These four weekly vintage styling prompts are designed to spark easy decorating ideas using thrifted treasures, antique favorites, and the familiar pieces you already love. No big shopping trips required, just a few seasonal flowers, meaningful heirlooms, and simple vintage touches that make your home feel light, welcoming, and uniquely yours.
Think warm summer light, well-loved collections, and those quiet decorating moments that make a house feel lived in and loved. It’s all about familiar finds, styled your way, with a little New England charm woven in.

Sunday Home, The Vibe I’m Chasing
Sunday Home is the kind of home that feels like an exhale. Pajamas a little longer, coffee that stays hot because nobody’s rushing, a fire crackling, and candles lit for no reason. It’s a favorite movie queued up on top of an antique hutch, Ella🐾 close by, Van Morrison in the background, and a few familiar finds styled simply, with a little Dabbling & Decorating, so the whole space feels warm, easy, and lived-in.
1. Style a Heritage Americana Moment for America’s 250th Birthday
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a collected summer vignette inspired by antique flags, blue-and-white dishes, weathered baskets, vintage quilts, pewter, stoneware, checkerboards, braided rugs, or whatever familiar finds already feel like home to you.
This prompt is less about decorating with red, white, and blue everywhere and more about creating a meaningful Heritage Americana moment; something layered, personal, and rooted in story. Maybe it starts with a solo antiquing date, a favorite thrifted treasure, a road trip find from Amish Country, or an old piece you’ve had tucked away for years.
Style it your way: on a porch table, in an entryway, across a mantel, in a hutch, or outside for a simple summer gathering. Think timeless, collected, and comfortably nostalgic, the kind of Sunday Home moment that feels like summer, memory, and old-fashioned charm all in one.

Use these posts as inspiration for creating your own Heritage Americana moment this summer. From solo antiquing adventures and Amish Country finds to timeless patriotic decorating ideas and collected vintage styling, these are some of my favorite ways to bring old-fashioned American charm into a Sunday Home.
Ann’s Patriotic table centerpiece was recently featured in Parade Home & Garden in their “20 Patriotic Memorial Day Decorating Ideas For Inside and Out” article that you may be interested in reading.
2. Set a Summer Supper Table with Coastal New England Charm
Create a summer table setting inspired by a coastal New England supper, lobster if you love it, seafood if that’s your thing, or any simple meal that feels like summer at home. Use familiar finds like vintage dishes, woven placemats, blue-and-white linens, old glassware, enamelware, baskets, flowers, candles, or thrifted serving pieces to make the table feel collected, personal, and welcoming.
Invite family or friends, or set a pretty table just because. Indoors, outdoors, on the porch, in the garden, or under an umbrella, this prompt is all about turning an ordinary summer meal into a summer Sunday Home moment.

These summer table-setting posts are filled with vintage-inspired ideas for creating a New England supper at home, from lobster dinners and coastal dishes to relaxed outdoor entertaining. Use them as inspiration for mixing old favorites, thrifted pieces, and simple seasonal touches into a table that feels easy, collected, and completely your own.
“Lobster just defines summer in New England, and when it’s paired with classic Americana colors and vintage charm, it becomes something really special,” Ann Kittredge of Dabbling & Decorating Blog says. “For me, lobster is the ideal way to celebrate the Fourth of July in a way that feels authentic to the northern East Coast, and can easily be styled to feel elevated and festive.” — The Spruce

3. Go on a Weekly Summer Wildflower Scavenger Hunt
Pack a pair of clippers in your glove compartment and take yourself on a little summer scavenger hunt. Look for roadside wildflowers, meadow blooms, and whimsical weeds you can gather into a simple arrangement, lupine in late spring, Queen Anne’s lace, hardy fuchsia, common reeds, winterberry branches, or whatever catches your eye along the way.
Bring them home and style them in a vintage pitcher, demijohn, crock, basket, mason jar, or old vase. This prompt is all about noticing the beauty growing around you and turning a handful of familiar finds into a fresh Sunday Home moment.

These wildflower-inspired posts are full of simple ideas for gathering, arranging, and styling seasonal blooms with vintage charm. Use them as inspiration for your own roadside scavenger hunt, whether you come home with lupine, Queen Anne’s lace, whimsical weeds, or just one beautiful stem that deserves a second look.

Create a simple summer picnic using vintage and thrifted pieces you already love, an old picnic basket, enamelware, woven blankets, blue-and-white dishes, mason jars, vintage thermoses, crocks, linens, or whatever feels collected and nostalgic to you.
Set it up in the backyard, on the porch, by the lake, after an antiquing trip, at a campsite, or even from the backseat of an old car. This prompt is less about perfection and more about slowing down and creating one of those old-fashioned summer moments you’ll remember long after the season ends.

These picnic-inspired posts are filled with vintage basket ideas, nostalgic summer styling, and simple ways to create an old-fashioned picnic moment at home or on the road.
