Vintage Summer Decor: 10 Pieces I Wait All Year to Bring Out

As mud season gives way to summer in New England, my thoughts always turn to Maine. Long before the hydrangeas bloom or the first beach day arrives, I’m already thinking about the vintage summer decor that helps our old coastal home settle into the season. Every summer, the unpacking begins long before the suitcases are empty. 3. My Mother’s Hand-Knit Summer Blankets

While the locations and arrangements may change a little from year to year, these are the pieces I find myself reaching for every summer. Some were passed down from my parents and grandparents, while others were discovered at antique shops, flea markets, and roadside sales throughout New England.
